National Diaper Need Awareness Week is just around the corner, Sept 23 – 29

  • 1 in 4 parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required to leave their baby in childcare.
  • 1 in 2 U.S. families with young children experience diaper need.
  • Diapers aren’t covered under any government aid or financial assistance programs, leaving families with few options.

As you might already know if you’re already a supporter of the Diaper Bank of Minnesota, access to clean diapers is a significant issue for many families across the United States. For parents struggling to make ends meet, the cost of diapers can be a major financial burden, often forcing them to make tough choices between food, rent, and essential hygiene products.  And diaper need can have serious consequences for children’s health and development. Without clean diapers, babies are at risk of skin rashes and infection, delayed development due to discomfort and limited mobility, and an increased risk of illness.

Diaper banks, like Diaper Bank of Minnesota, play a crucial role in addressing the diaper need crisis. By providing clean diapers to families in need, we are helping to ensure the health and well-being of children.

How You Can Help

There are many ways you can support our efforts to combat diaper need during this Awareness Week:

  • Host a Diaper Drive: Organize a diaper drive at your workplace, school, or with community partners. We can provide resources to help get you started!
  • Donate Diapers: Use our wish list to ship directly to our warehouse, or drop off yourself during one of the following drop-off times.  Our warehouse is located at 2327 Wycliff St in St Paul, #310, and we accept open packages!
  • Donate $$ at https://www.mightycause.com/organization/Diaper-Bank-Mn and we can buy diapers in the most needed sizes.  As a non-profit we’re able to purchase diapers at about 30% less than retail, meaning we get more diapers for each dollar spent.
  • Spread the Word: Share our social media posts using #DiaperNeed and #ChangeTheFuture to raise awareness about diaper need.
